Meet the Boutique Scarf. This shaped and shapely scarf is
wide then narrow, an airy body with a weighty flounce, a bold shape with a soft
touch. The quick, simple to work pattern results in an unexpectedly
sophisticated scarf with an unusual and compelling shape.
My scarf, shown here knit from Nashua Creative Focus
Worsted, is light and airy with a flouncy ruffle on each end. To achieve the
alternating wide/thin look, switch between size 15 and size 6 needles. After
blocking, it features delightfully delicate points. It's really a thrill to
block it, then patiently return when it's dry to pull out the pins and see it
hold this dramatic shape.
