Default Anyone use food colouring?

So far I have used coffee, tea and KA but I've been wondering what kind of results I'd get with food colouring. Maybe a more boyish blue and green? I'd love to hear and/or see pics!

I don't keep very careful records of what I use...but I like using McCormick's neon food coloring a lot.....And I like the results....esp. the greens I can get.....

Let's see if I can pull up some pictures for you...

I think this was wilton's brown and the neon blue (may have been doctored with a bit of KA)

Not masculine but this was neon colors

More neon

still more with the neon
(I think the purple was KA)

I will stop now.....but let me know if you want to see something else......

I'm going to have to look around...I've never heard of McCormicks and I don't think there's anywhere here to get Wiltons. What I have is a pack of 4 little tubes - yellow, green, blue and red. I really need some better boy colours.

Here in the US the McCormicks neon colors are available at Walmart..in the baking aisle. They are right with those 4 little tubes..they are the same stuff just different colors.

I sent a box to my swap partner. (who was in Canada b/c I wasn't sure that it was available there)

I use the cheap box of food coloring from Spice Supreme (it is at Job Lot for $0.99). REd, blue green and yellow. It tells you how many drops to use to make artic blue, chocolate, purple, lime green, seafoam green, orange, peach and coral. I really liked the way the chocolate came out. (7 red, 4yellow, 2green) I tripled the amounts.

Daphne - could you give me some more of those formulations for colours made from red, blue, yellow, green? I'm looking forward to trying chocolate

Here's McCormick's chart on-line
http://www.mccormick.com/content.cfm?id=10869

You man need to use more than specified of each for dyeing , but it does help you with the proper 'ratio' to get the shades desired.
