So after just about a year of knitting soakers, I finally made a Wooly Wonder!! And I did my first Curly Purly waistband, which looks so cool, especially from the inside. It's a Diaper Fairy thing for an MDC mama for an 11 month old.
Here's my issue- The baby's rise is 17". I did the 4" of body (so 6" total before I divided) and then the leg decreases and now my rise is 18.5" but my leg holes are only about 8.5". It's for nighttime, and with the CP I made the ribbing longer than usual so I expect it to be a little tall, but is that excessive? Is it going to be in his armpits, especially if I need to make the leg holes bigger? (reminder: no babies to test it out on). I PM'ed the mama for a thigh measurement, I never got one in the first place because I forgot you needed it. For P pants there's always plenty of thigh room, I forgot this worked differently I guess my question is, if his legs are bigger than 8.5", do I need to rip back to the body and start dividing sooner? TIA!! |

I think 1" or so extra (if it's 2" extra total, it's only 1" higher in front and in back) isn't a huge deal, esp w/ the CP waist and for night time. Now, if you have to knit 3.5" more for the leg holes, it might be a bit overkill.
My dd has a short rise, but big thighs. I have to start the decreases at 3" from the caston edge of a wonder soaker, or it doesn't work out well.
