I'm GOING!

Who is up for a meetup?

I am thinking Friday Lunch? Who would be available for that, or propose a different time?

I'm going, too! But I'm a vendor, so my schedule isn't that flexible. What about a Thursday lunch meetup? That's before the marketplace opens.

I will be there all weekend, so anytime works for me (other than the official events).

What about Sat night, between classes and the big Ravelry meet-up?

Well, I already have a Sat eve meetup with another group. I have a Fri AM class, so maybe lunch Fri would work for me too?

I'm thinking of staying in the Ace Hotel... is anyone else staying in the fun downtown area?

My friend, Pamela, recommends Jupiter or ACE.

Cool! So maybe we can go to Kenny and Zukes for lunch on Friday - NY style deli that is one thing I cannot miss in Portland. That work for folks?

I need to start making a calendar for myself so I don't forget what I'm doing.

Now, anyone else staying downtown? I'm getting ready to book a downtown hotel and would like to stay near others to take the max together, and for general good times. Not staying at Ace Hotel or Jupiter because they are pet-friendly and my asthma is Not. Boo hoo.

Yeah, well, since all the affordable places are taken at the cc, I'm headed for the downtown area. thinking Mariott for us. (My sister is going to explore Portland) Thurs thru Sun AM for me. . .

this one:

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...d-city-center/

? We stayed there before and it was very convenient to downtown.

I am also thinking of the Mark Spencer since it has a Sock Summit rate.

Did you see all the hotel group rate things: http://www.socksummit.com/accommodations_and_travel/

I saw, but only called the ones that were near the cc. I need to chat with my sis, to make final arrangements. But the Marriot had decent rates, without a SS group rate. . . And we really just need a clean place to lay our heads anyway. . .

So that IS the Marriot you'll be staying at, the downtown one? I figure we might stay up knitting and chatting in the lobby of wherever we stay -- as long as there are others around to do that!

Darnit, I went to make my reservation, and the prices had gone up, significantly! So, I had to do a little more research, and still ended up at the
Portland Marriott City Center
520 Southwest Broadway
Portland, OR 97205 USA
Phone: 1-503-226-6300

The Nines has a similar rate, and I think the Mark Spencer rate was about the same.

These are close to each other but the courtyard is less expensive, and is

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/...t-city-center/

I am paralyzed by indecision!!! By the time I decide the rates will go up.
