Talk about a long shot, but it's worth a try! I live in Whitefish, 40 minutes West of Sudbury and would love to meet with another knitting mama or mamas!

Not from Sudbury, not even from the province but it's always nice to sew a new Canadian knitter on the board. Waves from Montreal, Quebec. :)

Another Ontario dweller here. Northern Ontario, up by Thunder Bay. :)

Hi all you Canadian mamas! :) Let me know if you're ever in Sudbury and we can plan a knitty! :knit

Nada, I lived in Ottawa off and on years ago when I was in university. Did my first year at U of O then went back years later and did my teacher's college there. In between, while I was studying at Waterloo, I did 3 co-op placements in Ottawa. I just love it there! DH lived was living there when we met too, but I lured him back to the North! :throb

Anyway, you're Nada from Woolywondersbynada? I ordered some BFL from you recently and am using it to knit my first pair of PP. I love it!!! I'm ordering more - maybe even today if I have time!!! :) Anyway, we still visit Ottawa now and then - I have a sister in Casselman and DH usually plays in the City of Ottawa Men's Curling Bonspiel every March Break; although not this year since we just had baby #3 and life is just too hectic with 3 kids under 3. :nut

Ok, off to do mummy stuff!

All of you seem so far away! :( I literally live where no people are. (Only 600 in this community!!)

Last time we drove to Toronto it took us 7.5 hours to get to Sault St Marie!!

Ah well..........

DH and I went on a camping trip where we headed North along the Superior and camped at several provincial parks along the way. We ended up at Sleeping Giant. We hadn't planned on actually going INTO Thunder Bay, but we blew a tire on our car and had to go into town to have it repaired before the long drive home. So I've been to your Wal-Mart! LOL On the way home, we just did it in one go and didn't stop; it WAS a long drive!!! But it's sooooo scenic! I just LOVE living in the North! I live in a small community as well; there are about 400 people in Whitefish. But it's very rural. We have a community centre, a marina, and yep, that's pretty much it! LOL We don't even have neighbours - my BIL is our nearest neighbour and it takes about 20 minutes to walk to his house. We have some cottagers on our road in the summertime, but that's it. But we like the peace and quiet! I like being a country bumpkin! LOL

Lynn, I agree it is gorgeous here.

Did you happen to climb "the chimney" when you were at Sleeping Giant?? It's at his feet and you can see everything from up there.

I live about 45 minutes away from Thunder Bay. We have a community center, a small store and farms. lol.

No, we didn't actually make it to the Sleeping Giant. We did some hiking in the provincial park itself and had a great view of the giant from there. We would love to go back though when the kids are a little older. Perhaps we'll do the chimney then! Plus we want to stop at the amethyst mine on the way up - we didn't have time last trip. And I definitely want to stay at Pukaskwa National Park again! Ever go there? We went on this amazing 21 km hike there! But the kids will have to be WAY older before we do THAT again! LOL So you ever come to Sudbury?
