Tammy, there are different schools of thought on using this for soakers/shorts/pants. I have used it before, and I haven't received any complaints about its performance, but I do lanolize the snot out of them before I send them off. If you want, you can go to my photo album and see some pants in them ... it is this one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/mom2pittcrew/lispants2.jpg
I like working with it, but I also like working with Bartlett and LTK's and Fabriconnection's. I like Cascade for its readiness.

How is it on softness??? Is it Softer/Scratchier than Fishermans & Patons? Those are the two that I am most familiar with....I am getting some other yarn, but I wasn't planning on using it...and Jess doesn't have her delicious stuff in yet..<sigh> :faint

I haven't worked with Paton's, but I have with Fisherman's and it is a LOT softer. I think this is the softest YS selection around.

cascade 220 is very soft and comes in beautiful colors. it pills but not severely. i do find it kind of thin. i like it for a daytime soaker but not overnight. i wouldn't make long pants out of it because i'd be afraid that the knees would wear out.

I've made pants w/ it. It does need LOTS of lanolin. I probably wouldn't use it overnight if I had a super soaker. It works for Bret overnight though.
I do think a crawling baby would wear out the knees, but it is fine for walkers. :)

I've tried cascade 220 for shorts and they are soft. However, it doesn't have any "body" to the yarn. I don't have any leaking problems although I only use it for day time.
I really like lamb's pride for longies. Thick and soft. But it does pill.

I made my first wooly wonder shorts out of this.I thought it was kinda thick for day time use!?I need to post pictures of it.The shorts feel heavy to me.It is soft though.Haven't washed or lanolized it yet.Been kinda lazy.
