WOW! Can you guess what it is??? Please be seated, I don't want anyone to :faint
It is a :secret Gauge swatch! Yes, I know shocking to say. I also have to tell you that it is COMPLETLY bound off (as in I actually CUT the yarn, not just leaving it attached to the ball) AND it's been WASHED! :faint I know shocking! :D
I'm designing a 3/4 sleeve sweater, working from the TOP DOWN, seamless set in sleeve and this is what I'm "copying": http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring03/images/Grecian.jpg
Please note, I'm copying, not using her measurements ('cause her finished XL measurement is 5" smaller than my actual measurement, so the sweater will, hopefully, actually FIT me), or her pattern (cause it's done in PIECES :yikes:goodgrief ), but I'm using the Grecian Plait (the variation) and working totally different (as in Top Down no pieces/seams!). I'm also going to raise the neckline. :) I'm totally excited!!!!
I'm going to use KP's Merino (since I love the feel, it's cheapish, and looks great in the washed swatch :superb I'm way excited about this!!! :D
I'm using Maggie Righetti's book Sweater Design in Plain English along with Barbara Walker's Knitting from the Top Down. :D Can you tell I'm excited????
The only probem is, I'm pg... So for the most part, I can cast on and work to the grecian plait part, then wait... So, I'm planning on doing the following: :idea
1. Take measurements before babe comes of my upper area (shoulder tips, chest, etc, up to right under my bustline) then I can actually cast on and start on it working up to under the bust area, if, I do the following:
2. Finish the Cardi I'm working on right now. :yawn It's painfully boring in black. I know I'll love it, it's just boring right now. :yawn Plain stst, but I already know how I'll change the pattern when:
3. I order the yarns (ahem 6 skeins of Kona custom dyed :arwyn) from T and cast on/finish the cardi making the changes that I thought of from making the first one. :D
4. If babe still hasn't come and I'm still bored and have finished all that (plus whatever I"m making babe), I'll try to finish up the Faroese shawl that I started forever ago. It was the yarn that I dyed (Kona again) that came out how I pictured. :arwyn
5. If that is finished and I'm still bored before babe comes, I'll figure out what exactly I'm doing w/the 3 skeins of yarn from T that I'm getting
and either cast on or play with other yarns.
6. Again, if babe's not here and I'm totally crazy (and enormously pg, as I really only have 20 weeks and that's a lot of stuff for me to do), I'll go yarn shopping in hopes to induce labor.
Any thoughts?? Other than I sound totally crazy :nut ?
Hugs,
tammy
