Ok, I dyed yarn this morning. I thought I remembered T saying that she used citric acid to set her dye - maybe in the red, red thread... So I threw in 4 or 5 drops of lemon juice on top of my "glug" of vinegar. I got a fabulous exhaust! I was using a Wiltons green which usually leaves the water a light shade of blue, no matter how hot it is or how long I leave it. This time the water was completely clear, and I had no running color when I rinsed.
Anyone else here tried this? Theresa? I'm thrilled. I just hope it lasts, and doesn't bleed after it dries.....
