Has anyone knitted one of these patterns before? There are a couple I really like but as a new knitters I think they might be WAY beyond my skills. I'd love any input. Thanks!

Hmmm... I added one of these to my cart and it said shipping would be $4.85, ten cents less than the very light pattern. Anyone ordered patterns from them before?

Shipping should be the cost of a stamp, don't ya think? I say rip off.

At Monkeysuits (http://www.monkeysuits.com/) they list stores that carry their patterns. Maybe there is someone local for you that carries what you want.

Man, no stores in my state. :( I've never bought through amazon, but I'm not into putting in credit card info BEFORE I even know my total and just for them to have on hand.

For Elann's shipping, I bet it is automatic shipping costs that adds up to your order. These people are very accomodating and there's no harm in emailing the company to ask if the shipping is not a bit too steep for a pattern. Worst case they'll encourage you to buy more so that shipping evens out! LOL! ;)

Just so y'all are clear, the book has completely different patterns that the leaflets ;) So, if you buy the book hoping to get one of the leaflet patterns you'll be sorely dissapointed.

On the shipping, maybe that's their standard shipping rate, and probably priotiry shipping I'd think? I do know the monkeysuits patterns have heavy cardstock covers and nice heavyweight paper, but definitely should not be that expensive to ship.

sorry Davina :( I'm sure they ara adorable patterns in the book as well, all of the monkeysuits ones are cute. But, I would be very, VERY surprised if you see any of the leaflet patterns in the book. It would be like me writing a book and including my soaker pattern int eh book. Well, why the heck would anyone but the individual pattern when they can buy the book and get a whole bunch, LOL?

K, I just looked through all the leaflets at Elann, and then seached the book at Amazon. I know some of those are the same patterns. AT least the two I really liked are. And then the Jacky-O one is in the book, and the tweed jacket. whew.... I just really wanted the candy stripes and the one Nada linked.

:faint well, consider me gobsmacked. That's not very smart on the designer's part, I think ;)

But certianly happy for you that you'll get the patterns you wanted!!! :banana

:LOL I know. I think that's weird, too. But what do I know??
Besides, I have been wrong SO many times, what's one more? I guess we shall see. Don't be gobsmacked just yet.

There may be two different markets at play...You know some folks like patterns in a leaflet form and other in book form. (I find my books hold up better.)

And you know Family Circle has their books that look like many of the patterns from the magazine are in there.....

yeah, a lot of the magazines recycle their patterns into books, but that makes more sense to me becuase once the magazine is off the newsstand, you can't get the pattenr anymore if you didn't buy the mag.
