I just started working on Blu (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTblu.html) from the most recent Knitty. This is my first experience with denim yarn and I'm feeling like I need some moral support. ;) Anyone else making them?

You know, after knitting soaker pants in the round I feel somewhat silly knitting baby pants flat. If I feel brave enough with the denim, maybe I'll knit a pair in the round after following her pattern for the flat pair.

The outer seams are actually an Elizabeth Zimmerman faux seam thing. I'm wondering if you could do that on pants in the round too. I don't see why not?

I do read their blog but I haven't made note of the tips, I should go check it out!

I am a regular reader so I went back and looked again. The closest thing they have to tips so far is this (http://www.masondixonknitting.com/archives/2005_12.html#001361).

I knit two swatches and washed them today and I think I'm getting why some people are so enamoured of denim yarn! It's pretty cool looking after you wash it. I'm actually thinking of knitting a Chaos sweater (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTchaos.html) for Niels in denim too. You know, in all my free time in the next 3 or so weeks before my baby is born. ;)
