Ok..so I'm making the shrug for me to wear christmas eve (did I mention that I blame you all cause no one said: "Tammy you're nuts to start a shrug for you with only TEN days till you need to wear it")

So, do you all think the sleeve is a bit too puffy (aka 80's puff sweaters) or look good to you? It is at my elbow right now, I'm planning on going about 2" more or so to make it at my upper arm and then stop going in the round (also change to larger needles) continuing the pattern but working it flat....any opinions???

Mmmm... maybe a little puffy. Can you rip out just the cuff?

BTW, is this the dye job you were unhappy with? I think it looks nice!

I agree- either make the cuff bigger or the sleeve smaller so there isn't as much of a difference in size. I like the colors!

Crud! <sigh> Well, I actually like the cuff part, but have been toying with switching to seed stitch, and a bit more fitted. :(

Bummer! I am FAST running out of time! I can't rip out the cuff, as it's exactly where I want it, and I started this in the round from the cuff up (and I've sewn the cuff together already).

So I guess I'll frog (again, for the umteenth time) and go w/seed stitch...or maybe a fitted rib to the back and put this stitch pattern back in? How do you think that'd be??

As for the colors, it's a bit washed out in the picture and looks better. However, irl it's darker and grey blech...

So depressing...I haven't started frogging yet...

Anyone want to help? Got any gorgeous shrugs that I can finish w/in the next 9 days (and not to mention the poncho I still need to finish)

I'm getting closer to the deadline (I tried to just keep going but it's a dead end)....<sob> I just wanted something pretty to wear w/o spending $$$

:cry

The only "shrug" I've seen recently that might fit the "done in 9 days" is a big ole rectangle. Take rectangle and sew sides together and then add another rectangle to the collar area. Clear as Mud?

its not tailored and not long sleeved

Forgot to add... I think you did a great job on the dye colors. Even if it is "just grey" I like the combo!

I'm thinking of doing the Tie one On from Knitty....

Now to decide on the yarn....do I dye more to get a bright color (I'm intending to do the overdye in blue w/the current yarn) or just do the overdye and play with that (was thinking of possibly pairing it up with some Shimmer that I dyed in blues)

Oh..and dh said I could buy a sweater... :)
