Can anyone do it or is it a copyrighted form of selling soakers? I googled the phrase and didn't come up with anything.

I don't think its copyrighted -- Jesse could answer that for sure. Basically, the WAHM has a program where she takes a certain number of members and knits for them for an entire year -- one soaker/shorts/longies for each season.

I could be wrong, but if its not anything copyrighted, anyone can set something like that up, as long as they are either using their own pattern, or licensed to sell from the pattern they use. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about this!)

it's defintiely not a copyrighted thing (well, maybe youshouldn't use the exact words "soaker a season") cause there were other wahms who did it before Jesse. I remember Sherrie from Flicker and Suds did it, I'm thinking maybe our own Pam did it as well, and I have a vauge recollection that Karen at KSS did something similar. Those are just off the top of my head, I know there have been others as well :)

When I advertised it a year ago, I thought of the concept and name in my own wee lil brain. That has no bearing on whether it had been done it the past, but I do remember that there wasn't anything like it at the time in the research I did. I am not a hyena and don't have much exposure to the diapering community, so I'm not sure of the historical take on it.

You can not copyright a method of selling an item. I don't think anyone "owns" rights to the name, soaker a season. I think the idea is brilliant.

And to your question, no it's not copyrighted. It's a lot of prep and thinking through your policies and then, of course, you have to sell them LOL. It took awhile to catch on. There's a level of trust that has to be established on both ends, kwim? I opened membership up in Dec or Jan last year and wasn't full until this fall. I have a waiting list now, though. :)

It's amazing how often that happens, Jesse :) I cna't tell youthe number of tims I've been mulling over a design in ym head for ages and then I happen upon a pattern with virtually the identical design. I guess great minds really do think alike, LOL!

Like I said, though, I definitely think it would be taboo to use the soaker a season moniker, since I think most familiar with the wool diaper world automatically associate that with The Freelance Mama, our one and only Jesse :)
