I finally decided to write down directions
The 2-3 Hour Crocheted Wool Wrap
Materials
2 oz Worsted Wool Yarn (I used Brown Sheep Supreme Purple) for small size, 4 oz for medium and large
Size H crochet hook
Directions for small (medium, large)
Chain 45 + 2 (49 + 2, 53 + 2)
Row 1: dc in 3rd stitch, dc across, ch 1 turn
Row 2-5 (6, 7): repeat
Row: 6 (7, 8 ): decrease first and last stitch, dc across
Row 6 (7, 8 ) = 38 (42, 46) stitches
Row 7 (8,9) = 36 (40, 44)
Row 8 (9, 10) = 34 (38, 42)
Row 9 (10, 11) = 32 (36, 40)
Row 10 (11, 12) = 30 (34, 38 )
Row 11 (12, 13) = 28 (32, 36) stitches
Row 12 (13, 14): dc across
Row 13 (14, 15); decrease 1st and last stich, sc across
Row 14 -17 (15-18, 16-19): repeat
Row 18-22 (19-24, 20-26): sc across
Row 23 (25, 27): 2 sc in first and last stitch, sc across
Row 24-27 (26-30, 28-32): repeat
Row 28-31 (31-35 , 33-37): sc across
Row 32-33 (36-38, 38-40): dc across
Sc around side edges including wings
If desired knitted ribbing can be added along legs and back, I usually start ribbing 1 (1.5, 2) inches below wings and 2 (3, 3.5) inches from the top of the front. Ribbing can be done along the whole back.
The crochet makes it stronger for snappis and this will work well for night time yet is very trim.
It can be felted for additional waterproofness but I'd suggest adding two stitches to each row plus extra rows every 5th row. And add your ribbing after felting for the best results.

Try it out and let me know how you like it.
