to match this boutique scarf I"m making, obviously, for my boutique!
I'm using the HA Andromeda dyed by LTK.
Any tips on fingerless gloves?
Any smashing insights?
I figure, make a tube, make a gusset, hold the gusset stitches, knit the tube up a litte more, cast off, knit up the thumb.
Any inspiration to make it fancier than that? Maybe all ribbed? It's variegated yarn so it doesnt pay for me to do too much fancy work.
Help, my light bulb needs polishing. Bring on the inspirational banter!

What about a stripe of seed stitch down the top of the hand. Just enough to fancy it up without deterring from the verigation.

Creative Knitting has one I want to try....knit sideways in garter---make a big button hole for the thumb!

A lace pattern perhaps? Or a lace ruffle at the top or bottom edge?

http://www.bond-america.com/projects/usm_proj/usm_camisole_skirt_D_lg.html this is a pattern for a USM top but I really like the cabling down the front. I think a pair of fingerless gloves done with a large cable running down the top supported by a smaller cable on either side would be very cool :) Fingerless gloves are not big enough to support the 5 cables the shirt has, but 3 would be nice IMO.

If your not going to put "half" fingers on the fingerless gloves maybe a quarter inch or so of ribbing to help pull that area tight?
I like the idea of a cable running down the center, but would you make them cuff length or more gauntlet length to extend the cable? Or even a single cable/medalion in the middle of the hand.
I personally like my fingerless gloves with a little finger...but does that still make them finger-LESS?

I did a pair for myself last winter when I was freezing all the time and couldn't knit cause my fingers were frozen, LOL! I did ribbing at the top (didn't do half fingers) and didn't even knit a thumb at all. DId a little gusset then cast off when it was as big as I wanted it. I love them, and wear them constantly (have them on right now, actually, LOL!)
