what fabric for a tote?

I want it to be pretty stable and stand on it's own, KWIM? They are only about 6 inches high not counting the strap.

use duck cloth. at that height it should stand on it's own. i have knitting bags i've made with the same material, but i had to line them with interfacing to make them stand because they're much taller than that.
