It's the slow season.

People started shopping for pants in June this year. When I opened, all my orders were for pants....all summer long. Now it's getting to be winter and people are starting to save for holiday stuff.

Personally, i'm enjoying it. I love my customers but I put tons of pressure on myself. I'm enjoying knitting whatever I want and more then 4 hrs. of sleep a night is pretty darn cool.lol

yep, it's christmas time. I think things pick up again in the spring when people want shorts! I don't think the love will ever end. :)

It's been like this for a while. Anyone else remember when you COULD NOT get longies? Longies in and of themselves were hyena items. Now you can get them anytime. I think the market is flooded a bit. It's good and bad, lol. You can always get them but can you say no when you should?

none of our instock has sold. :( I sold a semi-custom, but I kinda knew that would sell, because it was 2ply Carmel Apple Targhee.

I keep telling myself that its okay -- I can either gift or auction off the small pants and keep the mediums and larges for my kids... but then I think of what I COULD be making if someone else actually bought them...

sort of OT -- how long do you usually leave an item instock before auctioning it or keeping it?

It get's like this every year about this time. With Christmas coming up people are using the money for Christmas presents. I remember reading about this last year, and the year before. Stuff on the TP has just been sitting there as well.

we just need more people to CD :D

The Trading Posts are majorly slow. But for me that has been true since the summer.

Well, if its any indication, I have a Mosaic Moon that's been sitting on the TP for over a week and it still hasn't sold (and I'm only asking $32 for it). So I think this must be the slow season or something.

Have any of you considered putting up longies and soakers that had more of a seasonal inspiration? It seemed like when everyone was doing fall colors right before fall you all were selling your items.

What about...

Christmas Colors...Candycanes...elves...toys...trains...snow man...

I wonder if more seasonal items would sell faster during this time of year...I don't know...just a thought.

I just finished embellishing a blue ribby wrap (that was a return from summer) with snowflakes to post at my stocking next week. I'm hoping that makes the difference. I rarely post instock because it's so dang hard to sell them, but I didn't have a choice with this one. I'm listing a bunch of semi-customs in Christmas/Winter colorways too.

Honestly it seems like the people who are looking for wool right now are looking for wool at certain places and want customs. I don't know how many times I hear momma's talking about how they want a custom from either Nada or Ewe Betcha! I think in my head I have tons of customs available and use the same pattern as Ewe Betcha pick me pick me! LOL I'm sure it will all pick back up in February though. Then people will be stocking up on shorts! :)
