Or something like that. I have a list of things I need to complete before Christmas. Anyone else? We could list what we need to do here and then work our lists together. Anyone else interested in cranking out the gifts for Christmas (or Hanukkah or any other holiday you celebrate?) We have 7 weeks.christmas
--------------------------------------
Here is my list:
Clapotis - sister
Wool socks - mom
Irish Hiking Scarf - dad

Only 7??!!? I have so much to do!!
Shawl (was going for Clapotis, but probably need to do something simpler) for gma
sweater and hat for each of my kids
hat and scarf for my sister
knit and crocheted foods for dd
There's more, but I'm getting so depressed. I have so little knitting time lately.

I think I just had a small heart attack. Seven weeks?!
I need to finish:
--cabled sweater for DH
--lap blanket for my sister
--wrap for DH's grandmother
Why did I save the big projects for last?

Wow! It seems really close when you say 7 weeks!
I have 4 more Nantasket Baskets to knit plus about 30 dishclothes to fill them with!!!
Luckily I'm not too panicky... I already made my MILs tote (that I'm thinking about lining) and one of the baskets. Knitting that first basket made me happy because I realized that I can get one done in 1-2 days. BUT the bad news is that I didn't order enough yarn from Knit Picks... I need about 10 more yards of the contrasting color than what is in one skein!!! I may be buying wool at my LYS, even though it is more expensive I won't have to pay shipping.
So, back on topic, I'm TOTALLY in for a gift-along! :)

I'll join in. I've started nothing, but I'd like to make:
Fuzzy feet or some other warm slipper for DH
Hat for DH (if I don't get around to the slippers)
Slippers for my grandmother
Mary Jane slippers for my mom in non-wool (she has lanolin reactions)
Hat for dad
Earwarmer for MIL??
Hat for FIL??
Doable? Maybe, if my hormones will let me stop nesting long enough! :LOL

Oh my gosh, I have soooo much to get done by then!
- somewhere around 2 dozen pairs of Felted Mocs, infant to adult
- earwarmer for dh
- earwarmer for db
- mittens for dd's preschool teachers
- just finished scarf for Mom - Yay!
I can do it, right??? If I don't sleep between now and then :LOL Dh will kill me if I buy all the yarn and then end up shopping desperately on the 24th
I'm trying to keep it simple by doing Mocs for everyone...hopefully I don't die of boredom!
Then just after the holidays I need to do 2 OSW and another earwarmer

30 stockings
1 (almost) done 29 to go
These are suprising Quick and Easy to knit though the pattern sucks butt. I'm a little bitter considering the book "Holiday Knits" cost so much.....
I've been avoiding and finishing my UFO's :bag

oh gosh... well, I'm in on the UFO's, so might as well list here -- someone to help keep me accountable?
Felted Mocs -- was originally doing 19 pairs -- but SIL isn't talking to me so she's not getting my hard work. So cut out hers and her fiance's... and not counting my DH and kids, I think I'm down to needing 13 pairs -- and one of those is done....
Poncho for best friend's daughter
Scarves for best friend's sons (maybe hats, too?)
Easy Peasy and matching pants for DD
Raglan and Longies for DS
Sweater for best friend
KnitPicks Ocean capelet for little sis (so maybe no mocs for her?)
Thinking of doing one of those Nantasket Baskets for my mom
Not a clue what to do for DH... I'd make him a raglan, but he doesn't usually wear sweaters...
ugh... only seven weeks??? And I've got store orders to do between now and then, plus other UFO's... Hoping to have the orders and UFO's done by Thanksgiving weekend, and then on to Christmas stuff... but that doesn't leave me much time... ugh...
Okay, so maybe I pick one night a week to not sleep and knit all night?

I have 2 of my Nantasket baskets finished and felted! I'll have to post pics soon.
I have the third one knitted except for the handle. I should be able to get it done and felted tomorrow.

The 3rd basket is finished, but not felted. I think I'm gonna wait until I knit the 4th and felt them at the same time. I also finished one more dishcloth.
I stopped w/ the gift knitting to knit another pair of PPants for Colton, since it's finally getting cooler here.... and I've only knit one other pair for him so far this Fall. I'm about 2/3 finished w/ them already. Hoping to get them done either tomorrow or Monday.

Is anyone else starting to panic? I'm starting to panic :bawl I see many sleepless nights ahead.

trying not to panic but I think I am going to panic. I still have yarn to buy for all these mocs and no $$ to buy with. And of course i want to use the LTK farm yarns called for in the moc pattern so I know I am making them with the right weight/gauge.

I got the right size and gauge by doubling lambs pride
I just had to wash the beegeebus out of them to get the to felt all the way down...

Has the Panic set in yet? 5 Weeks, ladies!!
I am over the half way of clapotis. I just finished the 10th repeat of the straight section. I am over half way done with the hiking scarf, but put that down to be done with clapotis as I heard it is a long project. For my knitting speed, I think the clapotis and the Irish hiking scarf will take about the same amount of time.
How long does it take to knit socks?
The Yarnist
11-20-2005, 03:20 PM
- Poncho for SIL (did the panels, need to attach them and then do the collar and hood
- shawl for my aunt (not done)
-felted newsboy cap of MIL (not done)
- hat and gauntlets of goddaughter (not done)
-soaker for niece or sweater (if it's the sweater I only have one of the front pieces left to do. if it's the soaker I haven't touched it.)
luckily everything except the soaker will be done on the knitting machine.

4 Weeks...
Need I say more? PANIC!!
I finished Clapotis. I just need to weave in a few ends and block it (or should I?) I am over half way done with Irish Hiking scarf and haven't started on the socks...however did pick up some pretty yarn for them. I still have no idea how long it will take me to knit socks...longer than clapotis or no?
Ok, I decided to only do two of the twenty dozen knitted gifts I had planned.
Mom - Branching Out - not begun
Dad - Seaman's Scarf - 33% done
I'm trying to finish my item for the Wooly Wonder Boutique and then I'll resume Christ-mas knitting.

This is a good thread for me to join.
Gifts completed:
Fuzzyfeet for Mom and Dad
Slippers for sister
Three dish cloths for MIL
Gifts in progress:
Slippers for BIL
Galway Guy for DH (Spring IK 2005) - just need to finish second sleeve and seam up
Other knitting to do:
DS desperately needs longies - have yarn for two more pairs
DS needs hat and mittens to play outside - more important than longies?
After making Fuzzyfeet and other slippers for my family, I want some for myself (and dh and ds too) - my feet are cold!
Have yarn and needles to make Bulky Brioche Raglan for myself (Fall IK 2005)...like I'm ever going to get to it!

I also wanted to knit some ornaments and crochet some snowflakes for each member of my family, but doubt I can do all of that. I don't know if I mentioned this...but really my family Christmas party is this Saturday. So, while you are all panicking over 2 weeks. I only have 4 more days....er...I mean sleepless nights, ha ha! Oh, and th party is at my house, so this includes planning, cleaning, decorating, and cooking to do.
