So, last night was Madeleine's first night in Cloth. The diaper did not leak. :) However, it was so full that even after I changed her, she smelled terribly like ammonia:tsk, she had to have a bath. Is there some type of barrier type material that I can use as a doubler to keep this from happening? Any suggestions?

I think the smell is an age thing, more than anything else. Toddler night urine STINKS! I have found that hemp stinks more than anything else, and organic materials (cotton, velour, sherpa) stink the least.
Really, I think think the disposables mask the smell with chemicals, but it's there with many babies. If we don't have time for a bath in the morning, I use some yummy wipe solution (water with some essential oils and burts bees apricot oil) to clean her up really well.

If she would tolerate fleece liner - that might keep some of the urine off her skin and keep her dryer so less stink???

No suggestions, just sympathy. I HATE night time diapering. Everything about it - the smell, the amount of pee, the endless search for the right diaper, leaks on the bed (we finally bought mattress protectors) and the huge, huge diaper butt the poor kid has to sleep with just to hold her urine. :hug

I had bought some fuzzi bunz off of ebay and they worked. It is amazing, she went from being so wet and stinky and icky to completely dry...It was definately a huge, huge difference and now I feel like I need to write the company a big thank you letter...or atleast get a few more off of ebay.
Thank you for all of your suggestions!
