I'm on my second project with short rows, and it's looking much better. I understand the concept and I am wrapping the stitches and turning correctly.
My problem is that I can't figure out how to insert the needle into the wrap and then into the stitch in such a way that it doesn't either add an extra stitch or look somewhat funky, if passable.
I knit to the place where the wrapped stitch is. All the directions I've seen say to insert the needle up "into" the wrap (and I cannot find an illustration of exactly how you do this anywhere in my books or online). I know which way is up of course, but I can't quite get how you move from inserting into the wrap to inserting into the stitch. What should this look like on your needle, like a ktog? And things really seem to go to hell when it comes to the wrap on the purl side.
Does anyone know what the heck I am talking about. Can you direct me to an online reference that provides a good illustration?
