I don't care for their manual. It is too general and there is no search function for it. Sure make finding things a pain.

I found a post where someone mentions turning it off. So it must be an option somewhere. It looks like points are for games.

Read the manual. The points let you buy things from the shop. The Admin can upload images, titles, etc into the shop & once you have the required points you can buy items. I think you can even return them!

From THE MANUAL!
In the shop the member can buy effects or other inputed items. The Administrator can switch the Effect Shop on and create additional shops via the Administration Control Panel. In the Effect or Special Shop the member can buy privileges like using an avatar or a signature, and colors for their name and titles.
The Administrator can add items to the additional shops with a name, long and short description, a price, a stock and a maximum stock.
