PATTERN STITCH

Pattern is worked with 2 balls MC.

Stripe Pattern Work in sc, changing colors as follows: 1 row A, 5 rows MC, 1 row B, beg new ball MC, 5

This part is very confusing!! Why do I begin a new ball of MC? Why can't I use the same ball? I'm working on the "Shape Crotch" part of the pattern and am getting ready to do the first color change- can someone please walk me through!! :chin TIA

I'd say they don't want you to carry the yarn? In looking at the body, it's done in rows, maybe they don't want you to cut the yarn. You work 7 rows of stripe/MC, then you'd be on the wrong side to carry your color..make sense?
Row 1: color
Rows 2-6: MC
Row 7: Color
Row 8 (You'll be on the wrong end to have your MC on the right side): MC

Does that make sense??? LMK :)
