2 Quick questions for anyone:

1. I am making a big naptime mat for my dd for her bday. I was going to stuff it and totally forgot to order my stuffing. At walmart (literally my only choice in this area) my choices are polyester stuffing or cotton. I would prefer the cotton, but I'm against all those pesticides. But I really hate polyester. Can anyone recommend either of those two for me?

2. Does anyone know of any good sources for wool stuffing in the future?

YOu can get wool batting from the West Earl Woolen Mill: 110 Cocalico Creek Rd Ephrata, PA 17522 717-859-2241

YOu have to call to order, but the last time I knew it was around $5 and change plus actual shipping. They're very friendly on the phone. They seem to be the cheapest place going.

Is there a way you could recycle something to use as the stuffing?

I have some of this: http://www.warmcompany.com/wnpage.html to eventually make into a quilt but it's fallen far down on my list because I need to handwashed once first (there's some shrinkage), and the quilt is at least full size, so the prospect of washing it is just beyond me right now.

Can you find an old wool blanket? I'd try that. Felt it real good by washing it on hot for a few cycles and dry it on high, and it should be perfect for filling a quilt or floor mat.
