Does anyone want to do a knit along with me? I just ordered my yarn and now I'm going to look for some circs for it.

It's a really cute bag:

I totally don't have time to do that right now but I have it bookmarked and will definitely be doing it in the future! What a great gift idea too, because it won't break the pocketbook! I also love that she has all the colours knit up to see....

Oh, and I love this:

Wow. I wish I had the time (need to concentrate for a lot of them) to do half the knitting she seems to do. All those kid sweaters are SO cute!! Love the ladybugs one, even though i normally prefer simplicity.

Anyone want to help me figure out how to do it without the flap? I think I'd prefer to just leave it open...the flap isn't appealing to me.

I would say just cast off all around instead of making the flap.

I'm in. They would make christmas gifts for a few of my cousins girls.

Dangnabit! That looks a lot like the bag I was making for Pam's contest! I guess it's back to the drawing board for me.

I started it tonight but realized it would be way too small for what I want so I'm doing my own bigger version!

I ordered a skein of Noro. I've never used it so this will help me to know if I like it or not. I couldn't find size 10 circs anywhere so I got size 11. :/

Oh, what the heck. I made one and it is in the washing machine right now. I will post some before and after pics tomorrow. I used wool of the andes that I dyed.

Okay, here it is knitted, (http://crazycrafter.blogspot.com/2005/09/teeny-tiny-felted-tote.html) then washed once, and then washed twice. After I am done blocking it and put the straps and button on I will post a picture in the gallery.

I would love to see it beside something to give me an idea of the finished size - beside a pen or something maybe?

Great work!!

The width of mine is about the length of a sharpie pen and the height is about an inch shorter than that. This is my first felting project. Is it normal for the heighth of something to shrink more than the width?

yep height more than width is normal

Wendy - how many oz/yards did it take?

earthwhisper

hmmm...that is a good question....less then 4 ozs. I dyed a 4 oz hank and wound it in a ball...I think the tote took about 1/2...so 2 ozs...plus minus some? yah, that is a good answer, huh? sorry I am not very specific.

I made one with some leftover KA dyed Fisherman's, a tiny bit taller than the pattern suggests and on size 10.5 circulars since that is what I had on hand.
It weighs 2.3 ozs per the post office scales.

I'm still looking for the right button closure, it is going to serve as a gift bag for a cousin's Sweet 16 birthday party tomorrow night, it will hold the One Skein wonder I knit her from Bubble Gum Cotton Ease and some jewelry. :)

It's an adorable little bag and now my middles want one too.....
