I'm just curious as to what everyone's prefered method is. I tried melting the lanolin in the microwave and I totally screwed that up. LOL. I haven't been brave enough to try it again since. I really like the wool bombs from the Soap Deck, but have a hard time getting my hands on them. Sometimes I see them at Midday Faire, but not often anymore and I rarely ever have seen them instock on her site.
So anyway, what do you like?

Some one else to do it.... but that is probably not the answer you are looking for. ;) The different bars I get with my soaker order so far, though I did purchase some liquid lanolin at Whole Foods last month and will try using that with a recipe someone posted here at WW.

Try adding the lanolin to a cup of boiling water with a little bit of baby shampoo and mix really well. Then add that to a basin of lukewarm water. The baby shampoo keeps the lanolin from clumping in the cooler water. HTH :)

I just bought some liquid lanolin from the health food store and I love it. So much easier than trying to melt the lansinoh. I just got a little plastice bowl, filled it with hot tap water, a drop of baby shampoo and some liquid lanolin, mixed it up and dumped in the wool bath.

I put a little bit of lanolin in a glass jar filled with water and microwave it until hot, the lanolin will look like thick oil floating on the water. Then I put in a drop or two of the soap I wash my covers in and stir. The lanolin should disperse and no longer be floating on top of the water. I put this mixture in a bowl or sink filled with warm/hot water. Then I add my freshly washed soaker (or pants/shorts) while still wet and gently squeeze them. Then I just let them sit there For 10-15 minutes, come back and flip it over, squeeze it again, and then usually forget about it for a while. When I remember it again, I spin it in the washer and hang on the shower bar to dry :)

I just got some lanolin spray from Monkey Sudz. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I have heard good things.

I didn't know that about the baby shampoo. It looks like I'm going to have to give it another try.

I should add - With liquid lanolin, I don't even boil the water. I just use the hottest tap water that comes out of the faucet.

Once a month I microwave lanolin. But the washings in between I just use spray lanolin from Monkey Sudz! It is great!!!!
