Holy Cow! What a wonderful little heaven that place was. :wowza

I made my very first wool purchase, and I am in shock at the different in quality from what you can buy at Joann's. Although I won't be able to use this exclusively (I spent $200 on 2 projects for Christmas! But it's for my mother and mother-in-law, so that's okay), but what a treat for those special projects. I also bought 2 Addi Turbo circular needles. I don't think I can go back to my Susan Bates.

Just wanted to share my joy. I'm going to go pet my yarn now.

So what are you making? Did you buy super-pricey yarn or did you just have to get a lot?

Do tell! :D

I bought:
5 balls of Rowan Plaid to make a shawl for my MIL
Debbie Bliss Noro Collection book (for a bag pattern that I loved)
3 hanks of Noro Iro to make the bag for my Mom
2 Addi Turbo circular needles (10.5 and 11) for the above projects

I guess it was expensive yarn, but I don't care. I'm sure I could have gotten this stuff cheaper online, but I don't mind paying for the wonderful service I received at the LYS. She walked me through each step of my purchase. Since I'm so new at this, I was so grateful for her help! These two projects were expensive, but they will be special Christmas gifts, so that's okay. I've started on the shawl, and I love knitting with it. It's so soft in my hands. I don't think I'm going to like it when it when the shawl gets bigger, though. It's not going to be fun sitting around knitting with a wool shawl on my lap during a Texas summer. But, I want to finish it early so it's one present out of the way.

Aren't yarn stores dangerous??? I have 3 close to me and it's soooo bad! Especially this one that has every wool yarn known to man. :faint Everytime I go in there I spend at least $30.
