I'm having trouble finding fitteds for ds. We were using prefolds with a snappy, but I'm useless and poop keeps falling out the sides!!! Pinning is even worse, so I'm searching for fitteds instead. Ds is narrow waist, chunky thigs and a high rise and if there's the perfect diaper out there, I haven't found it yet!
What does your cloth stash consist of?

Right now, for my 2 year old, we have 4 Fuzzi Bunz, 1 Luke's Drawers, another WAHM AIO, 3 Hidden Pearl Creations diaps, 2 FMBG. I think maybe one Kooshies... I like how the FB's fit nice and slender under soakers but as for a regular fitted, I'd love to try a FireFly or similar, we haven't owned any of those yet..
The FMBG are not bad at all under the soakers, actually, I like the fit, and have'nt had a poopy leak at all!!
For my NB, I have s small stash, Kooshies, a few other ones, that will be the true test, how that Breastmilk poop will hold up with a wool soaker(I never CD'd before with wool)

we use prefolds and flats, but with ethan (same built as your babe) I used issaluvs and loved them. I like the biki rise cut, and they had no problem fitting his chunko thighs :)

We use mostly prefolds, but I just got some hemp jersey flats (dyed by my friend). I haven't used the flats yet because I can't figure out how to fold them
We also have some FCB fitteds.

We do mainly prefolds and I have made some fitteds for Brayden. He had already weaned when we started cding, so I am about to experience bf poop with cding for the first time soon.
Stell has great instructions and pics on how to origami fold flats...one sec:

We do prefolds under our wool. I know that doesn't help....

I make my own diapers for Andrew. That way I can custom them to him. But straight from the pattern, the Goodness Gracious pattern has been a good one for us (skinny kid), and should handle chunky thighs just fine. I can try one on Patti's little man to double check. If you don't want to make your own, you can buy them from Grace herself. Her web site is

and she moderates a Yahoo group called sewingdiapers at

uhh...no help. Pretty much prefolds unless it is a fitted that doesn't fit Pam's eli :brow
The key with the prefold it to get a good snug fit around the legs. We really like the newspaper fold. The bikini is a bit trickier to get snug at the leg.
The trick is...after you have the prefold situated and folded....pull up at the center and then pull each wing UP and then over to the center. I make it even tight around the leg bc once Xiney is up and moving the leg becomes looser.

There are plenty of wahms out here that make great fitteds :wave
So if ya need links let me know :brow
I personally love my son's fitteds and wouldn't trade them for the world! Paired with a great soaker and you have diapering heaven!
They are sooo easy to put on and everything is there, no need to search for pins or snappis or anything, it' allll there!
During the day I let him wander around coverless a lot, and when we go out, naps or night i throw on a cover.
I really, really love the fact that the elastic holds in allllll those poops! No more scrubbing poop off my wool! I need far less covers overall, than when I used prefolds.
Getting the right fit can be tricky, but you can always sell used dipes on MDC trading post or ebay or something. Alot of wahms will take back returns within a certain time if you find the legs gap or what not. You could try one side snap and one front snap from a wahm you might be interested in and try them out anyway.

I second Cuddlebuns for the baby body type you described. The bikini cut style fit my DS amazingly well when everything else was dipping too low in the front to even consider! And the bikini cut style is very trim between the legs but we didn't get poop blow outs with them.

We use Kisslauvs. Ben's thighs are 12 1/2 inches (I'm not joking!) and they aren't tight at all. We use size 2 and they ride perfectly below his buddah belly in front and up around his waist in back.
