which should we do? LTK (meaning we all buy the pattern) or this free one: http://cyborgoddess.prettyposies.com/archives/2003_11.html ?

I love the LTK pattern. I'm not sure I'd be very please with the fit of the other one. It just looks weird, and from my experience with designing diapers, I'd rather stick with what I know and trust.

I answered for the free one, but I am all up to purchase the LTK one, too. I haven't purchased a pattern from :theresa in the longest time, and I am going through withdrawal....

I agree with Tana.

edited to add that the free pattern is one size only (0-3 m I think) and you have to adjust the pattern based on your childs measurements, while this is not hard it is a PITA. This is obviously not the case with the LTK pattern.

i'd also like to do the LTK pattern. I've never tried her patterns and would like to. perhaps we could do both? each person could choose his or her pattern.
let's let the poll run for a bit and see if it stays neck and neck like it is now.

I was thinking the same thing, Marnie...could do both. I will be buying Theresa's, just can't right now. :LOL The size of the free one is perfect, since my guy (we think we may have a name for him  ) will be here soon. I will definitely wait to do one for Brayden until I can get T's pattern. Anyhoo...my :two

I voted for LTK, because I have the pattern, but I think there should have been an option to select both. This way the person could pick which one they could afford at the moment, and we'd all still be knitting wraps. :)

Amy, it's looking like both is the answer, for sure!

I see nothing wrong with just calling it a "wrap" knit-along where you pick your own pattern (LTK or the other one). I just love how well the LTK pattern fits. This is the only soaker I'm going to knit for Ben from now on because it fits him so well. He has many soakers, but this one fits like no other. If someone wanted to buy just one pattern, this is the one I'd recommend.

No, seriously, I wanted the pattern because I was going to use the ideas to design my own soaker with ribbing in the crotch. But now that I made it, I am so pleased with the fit - better than any soaker we have - it's the only thing I'm going to make for him (other than shorts or longies).
You also have to understand that I designed Ben's diapers myself which took hours and hours and many yards of fabric that were used in testing. So I have a bit of bitter experience here. :two With the diapers that we have, I had to make three soakers in order to get one that covered them completely - and that was the LTK soaker pattern that I did that with (so I'm not just a LTK-only person). This is something that was designed to go over "other" diapers. I made one minor adjustment to the rise, and it fit perfectly - much better than our best-fitting soaker (and I've bought all the soaker patterns!). Now I'm thinking of trying a different diaper style, and I know I won't have to re-design our soakers for the new diaper if we're using the Ribby Wrap. Read the reviews Theresa has posted on her site and you'll see I'm not the only sold on the flexibility of this product.

So are we doing this? I made a large one Friday and Saturday. Then I made a small one on Sunday. They really are quite easy...much easier than the Tart Hat. I want to make a couple more and I'd love to have some company. :)

Ready when y'all are! I have one that only needs the crochet finishing, am partway through another one ... if we're going to wait much longer though I might as well get some of that FBF yarn and then I have to dye it and get it wound...
Or I could just go to the LYS and get some :D
