Well, I don't know anything about hemp yarn. However, I use a lot of hemp fabric for my diapers. Hemp is the most absorbant material I have found for making diapers and it usually goes UNDER the soaker (works great in combo with a wool soaker). If hemp yarn is anything like the fabric, it's gonna be Wick City.

Ohhh! I have some! :) Ok..here's the deal: I got some hemp/wool yarn in a trade from one of my testers. I am making a soaker out of it. It's her request. It feels kind of wierd...lol...I asked dh to feel it and he said it feels like a washcloth. It looks kind of like twine, but doesn't feel that rough. I did a guage swatch and 8sc=2" on an F( 3.75mm) Hook!!! I couldn't belive it! It looks much thinner than my Fisherman's. Once my tester gets her soaker, I'll let you know how it works. I did dye it, and it came out more heathery, as I used KoolAid. :)
I hope this helps you! :)

what is the content percentage? I've personally never used it however I've been wanting to get some hemp yarn for other garment projects.
It probably came out heathery because the kool aid will not dye the hemp portion of the yarn (hemp requires fiber reactive dye to be fixed with soda ash) Kool aid will only work on protein fibers (like wool)

I didn't expect the yarn to dye at all really! LOL :) It is 55% Hemp and 45% Wool... :)
