Might one of you sweet mamas explain this to me???

I taught myself quite quickly, but the book I used just says "Cast on 4 SC, then all SC in the last SC"

uh? what?

Sorry to be dense, but I'm really stuck here, and I do love the look of crochet on some things, like washcloths, hats, blankets, etc....

Thanks!!

Wow, cast on is a term normally used for knitting, not crocheting..

Is the first round 4 stitches? If it is, I would ch. 2, then put 4 sc into the first sc. Also, the key to crocheting in the round is use stitch markers to keep track of your rows.

Um...that's a weird way to put what I think they mean...which is what Wendy said...*scratching head*

"I can't believe I'm Crocheting"

It actually does say chain, not cast on... got em mixed in my brain, though I *DO* know the difference, I promise! :D

I think I have this book. I have to go into the garage and open up a box to find out.

eta: sorry, I don't have this book. Can you copy the first row of the pattern onto this post so that we can take a stab at it for you? Maybe it was changed when you rephrased it.
