If you want to have the smiles be there so you can see them to enter--go to the top bar "Quick Links" and then scroll all the way to the bottom and select Miscellaneous Options "Enhanced Interface--Full WYSIWYG Editing" That should help!

I did it this way:

go to user cp (top bar)
go to edit options
go to misc. options, and do what holly said.

I do not have that option. I changed the setting on the last box in "edit options" in my user CP, but I dont have the full editing as an option.

'standard editor' should show all the smilies too. I just changed mine to standard and I see them.
