sleeves?

I'm working on a tank for dd and I want to make the arm holes look a little more finished. If I use needles smaller than the ones I used for the body and create a nice rolled cuff, will it reduce the size of the arm holes? Will it make it too tight to put on?

I'm working this in Cotton Ease, btw.

I suppose it depends on how much you decrease...

What about single crochet around the edge?

pick up every stitch around the edge and then cast off loosely. it makes a clean edge (looks almost like single crochet) but easy as pie for those of us who find crochet to be a challenge.

Marnie, thanks for the tip. It looks great as an edging. No offense, Pam, but my crochet chain needs a lot of work. ;)

I happen to love rolled cuffs on sweaters, I think it's from my fond memories of the J Crew rolled edge sweaters when I was a teenager (ah, had the most georgeous boyfriend who had about 6 of those sweaters, and oh my gosh did he ever look fabulous inthem!)

Anyway, I digress :devil

I like to do a round of purl, then switch to smaller needles (usually 2 sizzes smaller) then work 6-8 rounds of knit, cast off in knit on same sizes needles as I did the rest of the body (not the smaller ones used for the cuff) The row of purl stops the cuff from rolling too much, and the larger cast off needle keeps it nice and stretchy.

I remember those sweaters, as a matter of fact I still wear my navy one (and so does a cute guy at work8), don't tell DH:))
