Working on pics now, but here is the short version of the birth... not that there was much to it.

Louie got home at 2 yesterday, contrax got intense around 330? Water broke around 415 while I was standing in the bathroom. I was looking in the mirror (naked lol) and it literally exploded out of me!! Decided that since they'd be getting more intense quickly, I should get back in the pool. I was right. had about 4? crazy back contrax then started pushing involuntarily. I can not describe how cool it was in the water. It was so intense that it was hard to concentrate on the sensations, but her head would bulge out, then slide back up. I kept a finger inside on her head b/c it helped me focus. Feeling her big wrinkled scalp was beyond amazing. Then finally I pushed her head out turned over to my other side (i was floating on my side resting my head on the edge of the pool) feeling her pulling and twisting to turn and come out. That was too cool, too!!! Finally felt her slip out, look down and she's looking up from underwater. Grab her and bring her to my chest. Then 3 or so horrible back contrax and had to hand her to louie to squat and birth the HUGE placenta (well, it felt huge, dont have any comparison). Then, I was needing to lay down, water was cooling, didn't know how to hold her and the placenta and get out of the pool and to the bed without making a huge mess... so went ahead and cut the cord. :( She was really pink and breathing fine so I'm not terribly upset but I had wanted to let it alone until it was limp. Anyway, started pushing probably 430-440? She was born by 450, placenta out around 515?

Gwendolyn Lilianna
8lb 5oz, 13.5" head (yay, she didn't have her daddy's head like the boys do), and 19" long. She LOVES the boob and would stay latched on nearly all the time if I didn't break the latch b/c of the crazy afterpains. Hmmm... can't really think of much else. :)

Gentle hugs for those afterpains. To me, that is the WORST part about birthing. I would do labor over twice if I could escape those terrible pains. I hope they subside soon.

As for nicknames, the boys are adament that her name is Sissy. Daddy calls her Gwen. I have been calling her Gwendolyn or Lily.
