I'm slightly altering the Fuzzy Feet pattern from Knitty to make holiday stockings for dd and dh and I want to create a loop or hang tag along the top so that I can hang them in the new house (when we finally move).

I'm thinking of the same type of loop that I've seen some put on dish cloths or pot holders to hang them. Am I explaining this sufficiently? I was thinking of just doing a single crochet chain around the top and do a few more stitches than necessary to create the loop. Will this work?

Yes, that will work. Another way to do it is to sc all the way around, when you get back to the beginning, ch 10, and sl st to the last stitch again, rather than to the first stitch. Or you can do a large "picot" type thing. Basically if you do a sc, ch 10 sl st in first ch, sc around will be a more closed loop than the other way. LMK if that makes sense...

Hugs,
tammy

You could also attach I cord for a sturdier hang tag.
