Since Pam posted those great links (and a friend of mine has asked if I would be willing to knit up some caps for a friend's little boy who is almost four and is undergoing chemo for leukemia), I wondered what a good yarn is to make hats out of? And i want something that is relatively easy to acquire... so from my local Hobby Lobby or Wal Mart.
I saw that some of those said Paton's.... just wanted to get your opinions.

well, chemo hats are a sepecial beast all to themselves, becuase along with the losing of hair that makes the head cold, the skin is also very sensitive, so you want something s-o-f-t. I did caps for my mum's friend out of berrocco's chinchilla (so amazing soft, but $$$) Not very good for a boy, either, too furry.
I's suggest TLC's Amore, very soft and reasonably priced.

Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece is very soft as well
And Bernat Cotton Tots is always my first choice really for all cotton projects
