I'm thinking of making a soaker with attached skirt. I made a mini a long time ago - I attached the skirt by picking up in the body of the soaker and knitting down doing a few increases to flare it out a tad. I see that some of you do your skirts starting at the waist but I was planning to start a little lower.

any tips? suggestions? words of wisdom? dire warnings???

Thanks!
Elizabeth

Have you only just noticed that Elizabeth? It's been there at least a week, maybe longer

No words of wisdom. I do like yo said, pick up the first row under the waisband. I flare it out to the bottom, at least almost to there. Sorry having kid issues...

When it said "Happy birthday Rowan" I noticed it months later!
I'm not always the most observant person on the block......

I was thinking of adding some shorts rows to add length to the back. Anybody do that?

Hi Elizabeth,

I attach the skirt right under the waistband and do the pleats which give the skirt a nice flare so it's not too tight up against the soaker underneath. But I do a dropped waist for the pleats, I don't start them right away.

Regarding the short rows--I thought about it--briefly, lol, and decided from the pictures I've received that they are not necessary.

Yes! That does make a huge difference IMO. I Added some sr on my latest couple for Fee and even though she isnt a big bootied fairy It did look better than the ones before without. They looked like the skirt was riding up even though it wasn't. I think I added sr over about 65% width of the skirt in my last attempt. Looked better than just doing the back.
