My daughter has been wearing MotherEase one size fitted diapers since I discovered wool soakers back in February. We don't have enough, so she's also been wearing some Fuzzibunz pocket diapers. I'm running into stink issues with those, so I'm interested in buying more fitted diapers.

Now of course I could just buy more MotherEase diapers but I'd like to investigate other possibilities first. My daughter is largish (26 pounds at 18 months) with a thick waist and what I'd call average thighs. She wears the ME one size on the second set of snaps; I sure hope they work well on the outside snaps or she'll outgrow them.

We use a doubler all the time, and I'm looking for a diaper of equal absorbency. I would be pleased if they were a little more trim but that's not critical.

I like the bikini cut of Kissaluvs but gather that they aren't all that absorbent.

Firefly diapers look interesting, but that's a pretty steep price! Are they worth it?

Any other suggestions? I am a little reluctant to buy from small wahm diaper makers since I bought a load of weirdly sized, light weight diapers on eBay. (They sure were cute, though!) I've spent a lot of time reading reviews at diaper pin, but a conversation is often more informative.

So should I just go with the ME because I know they work? Or strike out for unknown territory? I'm probably going to buy new since diapers sell so high on eBay that I don't save much money, and I need more diapers soon.

You might like bikini cut CuddleBuns. But I can't think right now, so that's all I can come up with. :LOL
Oh, also, muttaqin onesize are nice, they are harder to find though

i *live* for celestial baby:

organic and going cheap!

Maya uses one + doubler for overnight, and they're plenty trim and PLENTY absorbent. i love them. She's been wearing them since she was 4 months old, and at 2 years and 22 pounds fits both the medium and large nicely.

never flawed, even the seconds are so perfect that i can't tell why she calls them seconds.

My favorite fitteds are CuddleBuns. I just got some from http://rainbowstitches.com/ and they are great! She just added a TON of fabric choices. I am drooling!

I really like FireFly's too. They are worth the price imo.

My all time favorite cloth diapers are Unbleached Chinese Prefolds!

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess my eBay luck was in, because I just won 5 firefly diapers for $40, plus two Celestial Baby diapers at slightly higher prices. I look forward to trying them out.

I used to be a cuddlewahm so I'm partial to cuddlebuns.
For my kids, they have been the absolutely best fitting diaper, ever. We do prefer the bikini cut style, but I'd take either traditional or bikini in a heartbeat before any other diaper.

I've recently been on the hunt for diapers since our stash was scaled back and what we do have is really beat up having been used with several little ones. I have a Sugar Plum Baby coming, some custom CBs and Very Baby's. Oh and ugh..if crusing ebay, Little Lambs are everywhere. I bought some a few weeks ago to try.
OMG..I have a hard time imagining a baby these dipes may fit well, although I'm sure a baby exists that loves LLs. IMO though, they truly are a HUGE waste of money.

Thanks for both tips. I do think a lot of diaper (and soaker) makers are basing their measurements on their own kids, without realizing what a wide range there is. It makes me amazed that some diapers CAN fit a wide range of bodies.

That is so funny, because I had the opposite experience with Little Lambs! I ended up with a million of them for Andrew because they fit him perfectly! :) He is a chicken leg, no butt, buddha belly boy, and diapers are always falling off his butt. The belly pushes down the front and with no butt to hold them up, off they go. However the LLs stayed put. I bought a couple of Cuddlebuns, then bought the pattern and made a few. I like them as covers.

too funny Amy.
And I don't mean to hijack the thread :) But I was sooooo disappointed when I got my Little Lambs in the mail. 1) they werent what I expected per the auction description. 2) Then the fit was just awful. Not to mention these were listed as first quality, and I wouldnt consider them...ever...first quality diapers (serging, wonky edges)

Now..I did try the hemp dipe on Connor again this morning and it fits a bit better if I stuff in extra doublers to help take up some of that crotch pooch. The AIOs though...total waste. I should take a picture of him wearing one..it just looks funny on him.

I'm MEGA picky on fit. I buy used dipes with no gripes about stains, I mean they are poop catchers right? But fit..I'm seriously picky, and LLs just does not reach my standard for good fit.
And whats odd Amy, is that Connor also has no butt, and buddha belly (my mom lovingly calls him Buddha) He does have chunky thighs though. My biggest gripe about the LL *dipes* is the rise. Its like they're SUPER long rise wise, but JUST fit around his belly. So it results in that crotch pooch I referenced above :)

rambling...

I wonder if we got different runs? Maybe the ones you got were some of her first?
