I learned to knit just recently, from a combination of a friend showing me some basics, books, and online videos. But Pam taught me to knit soakers through the Wooly Wonders class, and now I'm hooked. You can see my stuff here:

I'm taking a break from soakers and doing some knitting from Melanie Falick's book "knitting for baby". I've had a lot of fun knitting felted wool balls. Although I think I'm also going to knit a pair of newborn shorts or pants if I can find a smaller circular knitting needle at my local stitch and bitch today. I'm in the mood to try some more complicated ribs and borders.

My son is about to turn 3 and starting to at least acknowledge the potty. I'm hoping to have another newborn to diaper some day but am a bit discouraged at the possibility, as we've been trying for a couple of years.

Pam,

I meant to tell you how evil you are because I went and bought Knitting on the Edge from Amazon the day that you posted that you had just received it. It's gorgeous! I just tried the 2 color vertical rib for the waistband of my newborn shorts (after figuring how to translate flat knitting into circular knitting). It looks real cool (I'm going to post a pic in a second in my gallery), but it doesn't stretch well and I think it's so small that it won't go over a diaper. So I'm going to turn it into a hat ;) and make matching booties and mittens.

I also got the Epstein knitting embellishments from the library and there are some cool ideas in there.
