Maybe we still can. Does anyone else know of walkers in the 3-Day? Jesse surely has folks she is walking with that are struggling to raise the money. Perhaps we can list a bunch of walkers that need help, and then ask winning bidders to fund one of them instead.
The money we raised is still inspired by Jesse and we can share the love with other walkers. We don't have to get other walkers to their minimums either, just the support of a few extra dollars will help them a lot. It is daunting and difficult to raise $2100 on your own...
We can say we raised X dollars for 1 walker, or we can say the same amount of money and a lot of walkers. Sounds like awesome bragging rights to me. :D
I hope I don't sound like I am taking anything away from Jesse, because I am not feeling that way. She is our inspiraton. We wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for her! In fact, I'm gonna go find her and give her some Karma. ;) It has just been something that has really been on my mind...I was up all night thinking about it! I love how generous everyone is and would love to do more. :)

Amy, what a great idea!! I might know some other walkers, are you willing to help gather names and coordinate a 'suggestion' page? Of course, since the auctions were listed for Jesse, people always have the opportunity to support her. But, our bidders may appreciate other options as well.

This is great. Thank you for advocating for others who need the help. This has never been about me and the limelight has made me a tad uncomfortable -- what a perfect way to share the wealth.
I have the name of a walker. Her name is Frances Hall and she has become my walking partner during the week. She is walking in honor of her teaching assistant who died of breast cancer. They taught together for twenty years and were fast friends. I see courage and strength when I look at Frankie: she had a total hip replacement in November and she will walk the 3-Day eight short months after surgery.
I hope we can help Frankie. She and her family are wonderful people who give to others in many ways. I'd love to give back.

Perhaps we can contact the winners of auctions that are listed for you and request that they give to Frankie's fund instead (it might even be best if the request came from you - especially if you shared the story above!)? If we left the KIYP auction to give to your fund, I'm sure some other winning bidders will still give to your fund, and you would be in the clear! :)

I created a "Support Our Walkers" page.

What do you think? Should we add it to the Fiber Avengers Website?
eta: Jesse isn't at 100% yet, I just did that one so you could see what it looks like when a walker makes their minimum. :D

JEsse's computer bit the dust. She called me and explained that we can sponser a FAA Team. She'll come back online and explain it for us. We can have a national team that we support. Neat, huh?
