Hi,
I'm due in November and, I'd like to know, as I've only in the past used PF's and wraps on nb, what you use with a wool soaker?

Could you just use prefolds and a snappi? I'm thinking here that it may become a bit messy for that breastmilk poops though, lol

I might just try and make some kind of pocket diaper as well.

Any thoughts?

For my NB, I used pfs and covers. I didn't know anything about soakers then. I think you will be fine with pfs and a wool soaker.

For newborns, fitteds are nice for those watery breastfeeding poops.

From experience I am primarly using infant sized prefolds and using covers I know will hold in any wayward poopies. I've also accumlated some fitteds which I've heard do well on newborns (like kissaluvs)
the covers I have so far are a few bummis whisepr pants, bummis SIWWs and a lambkin wool cover for nighttime.

We currently use Kisslauvs size 2 and wool soakers. Next time I have a newborn, I'll use Kisslauvs size 0 and wool soakers. Fitted diapers are great at containing poop. Newborns do nothing but poop, it seems, and when we used prefolds when Ben was at that stage, I went through wraps as quickly as I went through water. There is no way anyone could pay me to use prefolds again (unless the only other option was disposables).

Yea, I might just use a combo of fitted and pockets--wait..there considered fitteds, right? :fluffy

I'm sewing modified poopockets for my guy that'll be here in aug (hopefully he waits that long...long story). I actually like the poopockets. They work great on Brayden and he's 2.5 yrs 33 lbs. I'm making some smaller for the babe for the first little bit.

Totally OT: really gotta figure out a name for this guy...lol. I fell bad calling him ds#2 or my guy, etc.

We used a combo of prefolds & Cuddlebuns fitteds w/ cuddlebuns covers and SWW. The fitteds were the best @ keeping poo in, but took FOREVER to dry. I think going through covers @ the newborn stage is just a given w/ as much as they poop. :crud:

I used fitteds with soakers for Lydia. I remembered washing covers *a lot* when I did the cpf/Prorap combo with Ethan and I didn't want to have to wash my wool that much.

Could you just use prefolds and a snappi?

I used PFs & a snappi exclusively with my daughter. I really didn't think it was that bad. I used a combination of wool and other covers.

My "newborn" is 11 weeks old! Where does the time go?

We used prefolds wraps. I found the snappi'd prefold did good at poo if you changed right away so it didn't soak through to your cover.

We also used Fuzzi Bunz, but he's almost outgrown the small. We use MotherEase Onesize and they do great with soaker (tried on my 3 yr old).

My favorite though is Wonderoos One Size pocket! Great diaper.. I can put the same dipe on the 3 mth old and the 3 yr old my movin two snaps.

The little one has his first soaker on the needles now!!

We use mostly fitteds (occasional prefolds) with a combination of wool soakers, PWP wool covers, ME AirFlows and occasionally Bummis SWW's. Not sure how I ended up with so many covers that fit Peter's bum at the moment :) I'd be scared to use soakers during the first 6 weeks when poo's are SOoo runny. My kid was 15 lbs at 2 months, so we went straight to medium soakers when I discovered them at that point.

I like premium cpf's and an ultralight cover like the bumkins covers in the daytime. at night its either a cpf(484) and a doubler, OR a fitted and doubler. Always covered in wool at night. I like fitteds but for daytime they are just so bulky when I have to also have him in a cover. AIOs are really nice, but they take forEVER to dry.:P
