I wanna make a Cocktail Monkey Bag

At first I didn't like it so much... I"m not a big fan of orange, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. I want one w/ pink trim. Anyone else thought about this one? I think I'll try it after the Wheelie. :D

I love that bag! It is so cute! I would love to make one though I would probably never use it since my huge diaper bag is my purse.

Also, if there is a big enough group of people who want to make this then maybe we could split a box of the monkeys (mermainds, squids, etc). Because they are only sold in boxes of 100. The boxes are only like $6 so it might not be worth it, but what are you gonna do with 100 of the things? LOL

Does anybody know where to find the hemp cord or the ostrich feather stuff?

I Googled the hemp and found this place: http://www.candjcraftsupply.com/metallic_cord.htm Looks like you have to call to order? I wonder if craft stores carry the stuff? Or maybe other stores that carry jewelry stuff?

I've never seen the ostrich feather stuff, but I've never looked. I wonder if Michael's or JoAnn's would have it?

I'd love to split up a big container of monkeys or whatever! I didn't know they had other "critters" too! The monkeys are pretty neat though... pink elephants may be fun too though ;)

I can't decide which critters I like best... the monkeys are pretty cool, but the squid and mermaids and elephants are neat too! Decisions decisions...

I LOVE the looks of this bag.

You can get the exact yarn (hemp) used in the bag at Michaels for ~6 or 7 dollars. I got the trim from Hobby Lobby for $5 per yard.

I have been knitting on this bag on and off since the pattern came out. It is hard on your hands!! Metal Needles are a must. I am knitting mine bigger than the pattern states. I knitted the base to 8 inches.

I bought the hemp today :) I also just ordered both pink elephants AND cocktail monkeys :rolleyes: Couldn't decide which I liked better so I got both. And damn that Archie McPhee site... 2 bags accidentally slipped in my cart too. :balloon
