getting organized

My mom brought me an organizer for the kid's toys the other day so I was thinking I'd use their old one to store my yarn stash and all my works-in-progress. ;) I thought for sure it would be big enough to hold everything and then I discovered that I really do have too much yarn! I packed it all in there tight and it's still overflowing. And that little :devil voice in my head said to start with some new projects to get that yarn out of there! :lol:

Now I just need to make something to store my needles in. :pink

Ya, :lookroun: I'm using a plastic drawer organizor and I don't have much room left over!!

I have lots of Sterlite containers in the house... Of course they're all occupied w/ other stuff. :irked We're supposed to hold a Yard Sale in a couple of months, so maybe I can get some things cleared out so I can store all my yarn! I like the idea of using the Sterlite drawer systems. What does everyone else use?

I have a craft room and then I have a sewing room. DH tries to organize me about once a month/every other month. He's obsessive/compulsive...it's great! I just have a hard time keeping it nice :oops: He built me shelves in the craft room. They're all different sizes...really nice, but I need more. :lookroun: I have alot of the drawers too...they're great!

tnak....You have a craft room and a sewing room?!? :shocked: No fair!!! I made my knitting needles case on the floor in the kid's room today while dd tramped back and forth on the fabric while I was trying to cut it..."Look! I have perfect balance!" :roll: And my crochet/knitting is in the entry closet (now that I'm all organized).

I'm super jealous. :oops:

I have everything in bags piled up behind the kitchen counter. heehee My yarn stash isn't big enough yet to register on dh's radar. My sewing stash way outpiles it, so I guess I'm okay for the moment. For my fabric I have a bunch of sterilite containers to store it all in. I'm thinking I should just post most of it on ebay and quit saving it for someday... :roll:

They're really small rooms! I hate cutting fabric on the floor, but until I clean my table off some, that's what I have to do too :LOL
