Picot cast on?

Does anyone have any links that easily explain how to do the picot cast on? I want to start Crumpets and I figured that I could figure it out from Vogue Knitting but for some reasons the instructions there are confusing to me. I really need some help please!

the ladies kintting along referred to the Knitty.com site and the Miss Dashwood pattern, for this pattern starts with a picot cast-on.

Seems to be working for the KAL, however, I haven't gotten to the dress yet, so let us know if it works for you too. :butterfly
