So what do you think? Anyone up for one? Maybe in a few weeks, once the FAA auctions are finished (which, BTW, look FABU so far!!!)

Just found out steering wheel covers are illegal over here. Maybe I could make 1 that comes of easily (elastic in the edges somewhere?) so I can use it when the car is parked. Pam? Can this be done with this pattern do you think???
pamelamama
04-08-2005, 02:25 PM
This one is removable! You just tie it on with I-cord. If your not driving with it, you could just leave iton while the car is parked, without fastening it. :thumb

Ok... I got my yarn... I am going with a hot pink. Can't be too "not" obvious! DH just rolled his eyes at me. I am sure he will be finding a way to get it off when he has to drive the van.
He'll be the talk of Findlay.

How high does your nose have to go in this place? I find our LYS is ok, but there are times when I don't like to set foot in there when there are about 20 of them, sitting around and knitting. It makes me SO nervous!!!

Pam - I would love to join the KAL and if your LYS has the fixation cheaper than the link, I am all over it. :D
Our Volvo is silver exterior and black interior so anything grey, blue, or black would work (I love blue).
Our Toyota is burgundy exterior and beige interior and I would love to have burgundy for it, but really just about anything will look fine in there (except neon, I'm not really a neon gal). :)

julia, i think a deep bluish would be pretty!
i told dh about making this and his response...
"oh, hell no! i drive the trooper sometimes. i can't drive it with that on the steering wheel!"
once i told him it's removeable he thinks it's cool. :inlove:
don't know what color i'll use yet, though. my trooper is silver with black and dark gray interior. i have scooby doo floor mats and seat belt protectors. the engine is a beautiful purple! :D it's kinda of a mystery machine kid's car. :LOL but, i'll be getting a new car in the next year. hmm...

MAn ladies I wish I had checked this before LYS closed today....
I got mine (purple) for 3.45 (4.60 minus 10%...the most expensive colors/varigated were 5.10 less 25%.....) Of course they were pretty low on colors - ANd the sale ended at 5 my time....
I did get three skeins of purple- all they had b/c I couldn't remember how much I needed....
I have a blue van...but I like the purple. So if it doesn't look good I will just have to get a different car.....
I was "snooty"...I asked the gal there if she had seen the new knitty and the wheelie..She had but said they hadn't printed it off yet..I said I couldn't remember how much yarn...And that I was sure the designer would want to smack me since I should know better..Yep I was dropping names!!!
And you know they only had 2 skeins of Lorna's Laces for the Clap....and it was $30.....YIKES! EVen with the discount.
Oh they will be getting more yarn.....If you need a dealer I am your gal!

My yarn is STILL NOT HERE! GAH! THey just called me and said my cc was declined too. I placed my order on April 6 and apparantly they don't charge your card till the order is ready to ship (today). I paid for the order w/ my Paypal debit card. I guess I just assumed they took their $ when they really didn't so I had to transfer some more $ to that acct so my yarn could be shipped! ARGH!!!!! So who knows how long it will be till my yarn is here now... they ship USP from MA and I am in CA and I know it's going to take a week for it to get here :(

ladydemetreis
05-12-2005, 08:24 PM
Yep, I beleive your supposed to be slip, slip, (as if to purl method?) After I did the slip, slip,(as if to purl), I was instead trying to do what I thought was purl through the back loop but it did'nt work out that way :ohno
Yea, pics would be totally awesome! :D
pmcgary
05-12-2005, 08:40 PM
Don't know if this will help much..but i have watched both videos...
you slip the first stitch knitwise
slip the second stitch knitwise....
then you tranfer both of those stitches back to the left hand needle......
Then you take that right hand needle and come up through the back of both stitches....from the left to the right.
Then just contine with that purl stitch to get them off of theer.
(You will go through the second stitch on the left hand needle and then the first stitch - if that helps any.)
Keep in mind Ihaven't actually DONE this.... just watched it.

I have a correction for the Visor Pocket. LMK when you're up to that.
You sucked me in. I bought the best thing I could find today from my LYS, which was "Candy" by Artful yarns - I have "bubble gum" (http://www.handworksgallery.com/candyy.htm ) I love! the color.
I've done the first set of increases, and put it down because the tiny print was getting to me. I need to make it bigger. That and come up with a good way (beyond the post-it note?) to mark what row I'm on.
