My James was bigger, but as a newborn the only thing that worked was the bikini twist. I've read of moms using washclothes or other small clothes. Since they poop so much, it doesn't have to absorb alot of pee, but catch the runny bf poo.
She is adorable!

She is adorable.
Meredith is now 7lb 2 oz and the preemie prefolds are still a little big. I do the jelly roll fold and fold over a lot under the umbiblical(sp) cord.
Good luck

I've got a few aio's and fitteds that I had to make for my 6 (only 5 8 when we came home) pounder. If you want them send me a pm...some not the best construction, but I was in a hurry to cover that little bottom...but they are all cute and work so let me know....

greg was 5 pounds exactly when he came home from NICU, and we had an assortment of fitteds that I had had people make for us, but we also used washcloths (just regular terry ones, that come in the 12 or 15 packs at wal-mart) with PINS not the snappi. THe snappi went literally around his waist and there's no way to get it tight enough. I'd fold the washcloth in the newspaper fold or the sidewall/jellyroll (seen here: http://www.littleturtleknits.com/sidewallpf.htm) and then flare the top wings so that I could use one pin right in front, under his belly button. Now, mind you, he'd already lost his cord by the time he came home so that's wasn't an issue for us.

sigh, I know, just saw it myself.
I'm trying really hard to realize that going overbandwidth is a good thing, means there's lots of traffic to LTK, but man it's frustrating to see that for the second time this week and have to shell out to up the bandwidth!

Is there some sort of "people's choice" award for the WAHM who most frequently exceeds bandwidth?
I know who it should go to.......

we used kissaluvs.
I tried the 0's with ds2 but since he has a strange shape they never fit him right (big belly, short rise, fat legs). I only put 1 on her so far and was not at all happy. lol actually it fell off her butt lol lol lol

Jenna was 4 pounds 13 ounces at birth, and we used Kissaluvs. I did try preemie prefolds with her, but she was such a super wetter that it was pointless. We went directly to infant prefolds, but we mainly used Kissaluv size 0s.

I did try preemie prefolds with her, but she was such a super wetter that it was pointless. This is the point we are at today. She is a much heavier wetter than ds2 was but not quite the flood maker ds1 was. So after i got done folding the wash I decided to make them into mama pads or doublers. We went directly to infant prefolds How did you fold then then? I much rather stay with the couple dozen prefolds we have because we have to pay to use the washer/dryer.
