Hello all, today is the 23rd of March and in 16 days, the first round of auctions will be beginning. I'd like to get a rough idea of how many items we will have ready to auction at that time, and the items that are in mind to be donated for the drawings.

So, please check in if you could and let us know!

Thanks a whole bunch :superb

I am going to run an auction for the needle rolled case I made. I'm hoping to finish a matching circular needle case too. I'll probably run them as seperate auctions.

I'm also hoping to make a t-shirt and shorts set, but I haven't even dyed the yarn yet for the shorts so it may have to wait till the second or third round.

Waiting on 3-Day yarn to get inspired.

I have some pink pf that I bought last year from the co-op to make a Breast Cancer Survivor friend the Boobie Scarf from knitty. It is perfect that I haven't made it yet, because now it can be a "buy it for a survivor" deal to help raise money for Jesse. :D

I have some leftover pink yarn that I could make a hat with but I'm thinking due to the season I should make a head hankerchief. I think I have enough to do adult or child.

Which should I do?

I'd be happy to send it in if someone would like it.

Also I'll get back to you but I might have enough pink velour to make some nursing pads. That would be so nice and comfy!

*i'll be knitting an awareness soaker from my 3day yarn. probably for the second round, though.
*sewing a knitting bag for auction.
*i am working on getting monetary donations
*donating 10% of my sales until it's over (if i can get on the ball and get stocked )
*sew a few head coverings as auction to donate to fighters/survivors
*i'll try to do some other things as well

I want to do something with the boobie/nipple hat....AKA Boobie head?

What do folks think? Post the pattern or sell the hat or both ...OR some other great idea.....

If we do something with the pattern I will need a few days to get it all together - I have one size but not all!

OK, I dyed the yarn for the shorts to match the t-shirt so the set (knit to size) will be put up in the first round of auctions.

I'll keep you posted on the status of the circ needle case. I would really like both of them to be auctioned in the same round since they'll match and hopefully fetch a higher price.

i was going to do a hat but didn't realize how late in the year it was getting. i've ordered some hot pink yarn to make a pink bear but it won't be ready on time.

i have other pink yarn i'll see if it makes any kind of animal but don't count on me for this round.

can i squeeze in at the last minute if i come up with something?

:wowza I will need to wait until the second or third round. I will probably knit pants or shorts with a sweater to match. Maybe a girl and boy set.

I made a Kitchy Kerchief at SnB last night. I know its not much but with all my projects pending its what I can do right now.
I want to get all the things done for the baby and for dd for next winter before the baby is born as I don't think I'll be able to knit much once the bb is born.

THank you all so much for your generosity!! Whitecalx, make whatever you feel like--a kerchief or a hat, I'm sure both would be appreciated. Renate--that is fine, we will need things in the months to come, too! Marnie--whenever you can is great :)

Me--I think I'm going to make some lacy skull caps for the summer time. And I can do a YPA for the drawing.

I don't know if I will be able to make it for this round, unless I do a YPA/custom slot or something. I may do that. I am going to try and fix my sig but not sure how to do the links.

I should have a hat from the knitty special done by next week. It is being worked on now and is the only project I'm taking on our trip next week.

I'm halfway done w/ a Heart Scarf from the KNitty patterns - I set it aside for a couple of weeks, but I could finish it pretty quickly. It's a very quick knit.

yup, I plan to do a heart scarf too, I should have it done in time if it doesn't have to be physically shipped there by the time the auctions start :)

Just got this email:

"I'd like to crochet a women's scarf for the April drawing. It's the crocheted scarf that is in the latest VK, made of size 5 thread so it'd be nice for summer. I'm not sure what color it'll be until I go to the yarn store. I might just make it in white like the picture, since that would go with more things."

I've got to finish up the pink furry scarf, and that can either go to the drawings or I can put it on auction, whatever you need it for and where you think it'll do best. And, I've decided to donate the skirty I just finished (i posted it in teh gallery for anyone who hasn't seen it yet) I think that will probably bring in the most $$ on auction, so you should PM me or email to let me know how to do that (where we're auctioning, etc)

I'm still waiting for KFTC yarn to arrive--I'll have enough to make one larger item (shorts or skirty, probably) and either a hybrid or a ribby. I can auction them or whatever would be best. Count me in one of the later rounds, please.

So do we need more for this first round? I might be able to do a KTO if Pam says it's ok.

My 3-Day yarn is here! I am in the middle ribbing of the Boobie Scarf (to be given to a survivor) and then I will start on Patti's knit hat pattern (Remembrance) with the 3-Day yarn. :)

Also, I mailed in a check to 3-Day, so I'm going to grab a Fiber Avengers button for my blog. :pink

I'm knitting the Lou lou comfort socks from Knitty. I should have them done by the end of this weekend.. so they can be ready for the april 15th auction. I could probably do another pair after that, or whatever sells best!

Boobies are done - finishing up the ribbing in the middle tonight. I had to improvise since I only had enough yarn for the boobies. I hope to post a picture tomorrow and set up my template. :D

On another note - I made up a hat for a recently diagnosed cancer victim. It is a brain tumor, not breast cancer. Do you think people would be willing to send a donation to Jesse's efforts for breast cancer if the hat is going to a victim with a brain tumor?

I have a question... When you do an auction like this and "all proceeds go to charity" can you still take shipping costs from the auction $$??

I am trying to finish a soaker or two to auction. one may be a KTO.

davina, just have your winning bidder send you payment for the shipping separately.
