Just curious. I know I'm improving, but I certainly wouldn't class myself as a fast knitter. :(

A few days.. but I have two kids and a house to keep after, like most here. I don't spend more than a couple hours on it a day, and am guilty of keeping more than one project on the needles, one by the sewing machine, and one with crochet too... committment problem? or variety is the spice of life? I can't decide!

Total hours, about 6-8, depending. It's also spread over several evenings, not all at once.

If I could sit and knit straight through... actually, I have no idea. I have a super high needs baby so I only get to knit in about 1 row at a time. It takes me about 3 days if I really crack the whip.

I generally finish 2 per week - 1 during the work week and 1 during the weekend... I work outside the home full time... It takes me about 5 hours I would think but I haven't counted - like Pam noted, it's just too hard when you put it down, start again, put it down...

Usually four days spending most of my "spare" time on it, but I don't get a lot of uninterrupted time, yk? I just finished some shorts in lamb's pride bulky in about 28 hours -- not knitting the whole time, lol, but mostly over two nights of watching dvds and then maybe another hour or so where I could get a few minutes here and there. That was my fastest by far. I am also working on a pair of shorts or longies (not sure yet) in paton's merino on size 5 needles that have many many more hours than that logged and I'm not even that close to splitting for the legs...

Hey, Jayne, I just started a pair of shorts (md/lg) in LPB! How'd yours turn out? When I was doing my swatch I thought I had made a horrible mistake because I kept splitting the yarn, but now I'm kind of digging it. (My swatch was large and I'm gonna have to use 8s, which oughta make it even more fun! :D )

It takes me about 5 hours to make a soaker. I have only had one opportunity to have one sit down session to make a soaker... and that is how long it took me.

as for timing yourself...Pam, ask Cass sometime...the nut can time herself so well..its amazing. I know I cant unless I round up to hours ;)

It takes me from 3-6 hours depending on the size, including finishing and drawstring. Shorts and pants take FOREVAH!

I don't time myself anymore. But when we were trying to get prices to launch the store, I did it by counting 15 minute increments. That was PA life. Pre-Abby. In my AA life, I con only knit 2 minutes at a time. So, NOW, and intarsia soaker takes at least a month. Plain, eh, depends, but less than a week, maybe 3 or 4 days, because I can do it while I hold the baby.

PAM!! HERE I AM! :sly:

Sheena, I am not being snotty or mean when I say this. I do it because I have to. I need this roof over my head.

Ummmmmm.....weeks? Seriously, it takes me a really long time, but I don't get the chance to knit everyday. If I can get an hour before I fall into bed exhausted, I'm happy. Too many kids, not enough dh because he's onthe road six weeks at a time and then only home for one.

A minimum of 2 days, finding the time where I can (I only have one toddler to watch right now, but that will be changing to two in about a year because we recently decided to adopt again - yippee!)
