I have some plastic needles that I like, nice for a change. I have no idea what kind as I inherited most of them. Grandma made afghans though, so I was seriously lacking is short or super long cics.... I ended up with the Boye set because I had a giftcard and could get it retail but the Denise set is still on my Christmas wish list!

I just got my Needlemaster at Michael's with the coupon 40% off. Picked up some of the Fisherman's too. (TOO bad I didn't know that the clearance price on that wasn't entered as a clearance price --- people have been able to use the coupon on that TOO)
In case you didn't know Michael's has the Fisherman's clearanced to $5!
NOw I need to break out the Needlemaster and get going on my Chunky Wonder. It should go really fast as it will be my 3rd or 4th start. (Including one soaker that was in great form ---until i ran completely out of yarn. And now I don't know what I will do...it was the the last two skeins in the store. Shouldn't have listened to the owner's daughter who insisted it would be enough!)

I got a denise set last Monday, and I do really like it. I totally miss the slippery speed of my Addis (I have some in sizes 3 and 4, because the Denise set of course only goes down to 5), but I LOVE its flexability (when it came time to stop working on the 31 sts at the top of the leg holes on the EWS, I just added a new, short segment and slid them onto that - brilliant!). I think it's definitely worth having around, but you're getting it in kind of the opposite order of what I was thinking - I think it's a +great+ starter set for someone really getting into knitting but not yet wanting (or able!) to spend a few hundred on a good selection of needles, but with the thought of eventually adding to it, like when working with a super slippery yarn that calls for bamboo, or something really delicate that needs the gentler transition of Addi Turbos.
In terms of working with plastic in general, it's definitely nothing special, but there's also nothing wrong with it. There are two advantages I can think of: flexibility of the needles is just kind of neat, and they are sooooooooooooo silent! Brilliant! Especially when you're wanting to knit near a sleeping baby or during a tense (and quiet) dramatic scene. I kind of liked the clicking of Addi's, but I'm so addicted to silent knitting now. :D
Anyway, that's my :two :two :two :two :pink
