Ruffles?

I think I want to put a little ruffle cuff on some shorts.

How is that done?

Here's my way. Just increase in every, or every other stitch for one row, then knit a plain row, then repeat the increase row, then knit plain again.

Maybe someone else has a more precise formula, but that way has worked for me :)
