lol no secret stitch just 1 row of double and one row of single crochet. Ribbing is just your basic basic crochet ribbing too.
but my fav is the ribbed crotch. I do it on ds knit pants too but it blends better crocheted

where can I find instructions for crocheted ribbing? I've done Patti's pattern where it calls for double crochet into front/back posts, but that looks totally different!

Awesome shorts too!

Could you explain more on the ribbed crotch? I think I get ribbing, but I can't see how they are in the crotch. I just made a pair from Patti's pattern, and now I'm playing around with it.

Thank you!

pink one is dd's longies and other is ds2's soaker.
You can see both kids in them here (http://knitting.onheavenandearth.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=6)
I knit/crochet my crotch panel seperate from the legs, by diving the sts then working the crotch and kitcher/sc together. with crochet i go down 2 sizes in hook for the crotch
I started doing this cuz ds2 has several dipes in completely different styles, so his soakers sometimes fit funny. And i am finding with dd that i like crochet better cuz shes a very heavy wetter, so the ribbing really helps add more wetness protection.

Awesome shorts! I want to be a hooker too! I have one crocheted soaker and it worked so well for us before dd grew out of it. Clever crotch technique too, looks like it gives a great fit!
