Is this the one Meredith posted about? How will it work? Will we post ISO's or sizes or what we can make or what?
marnie

i was thnking that people would just sign up, be assigned partners randomly, then each person can get together with their partner and decided size, etc. make sense? should we do it another way?

oh, and yes, i saw meridith talking about a swap and thought there should be a sign up thread. i jumped in, but anyone else who wants to can certainly feel free! i'm having one of those "get organized" mornings and it's spilling over! sorry if i stepped on someone's toes.

Marnie, don't feel bad! I get easily confused, lol ;)
I think that it would be nice to post what we would want though. I think I would like to make knitted food for this swap, but if I randomly get someone who only wants a soaker, then I would have to make a soaker, kwim?
So maybe we should sign up saying what we want to make and what we want in return. Unless this was intended to be a "suprise" swap???

How about this way:
I would tell you what I am ISO, and then I will tell you what I can make
Like a knitting/crocheting swap.
How's that?
OR did you want to branch this away from knitting/crocheting? Maybe we can do that for another one... we could do a dipe swap, or clothing swap, or a combo, etc....

I'm in :)
I would love to knit a set of food (maybe a breakfast set w/ eggs, toast and bacon or a sandwich set or even a fruit/ veggie set). I can do a soaker or shorts too though if no one wants the food. I can do a couple sets of food too for a larger trade.
I'd love a Ribby Wrap from Theresa's pattern, or a boyish soaker in colors other than blue/ green. Size med here :D
ETA that I am also ISO hand dyed yarn (I'd really love yarn!) or longies for Bret. I'll probably come up w/ more if I keep thinking of it! lol :D

Also... do we want to say $ 30 worth... give it a dollar amount? or just make sure that we are being even when we match people.
How about this? I can be in charge of the swap. You pm me with the things that you can make for someone... and then I can match that person up. I will let you all know whether someone isn't matched, or we have too many matches for one person... how does that sound?
And do we want to put a time limit on this? Like by July 30th? Or do we think that is too long?
Mind you, this is my first time, but I have participated in quite a few swaps on another board... so if there is anyone who has more experience than I, please step forward.... I promise I won't bite. I have a really nice cotton hankie coming from Marnie... so I can cry into that... :pink
I think that is all... for now.

I'd happily make a hat/scarf set. winter's coming sooner or later! knitting winter stuff will help keep the heat away!

I'd rather do a surprise type swap where we can list sizes or things we'd like but in the end we don't know who is sending to us or what we're getting - it's just more fun....but I'll participate in whatever type of swap this is as long as it's momma made stuff. :bigups:

I think the only person who is going to know who is getting what is the person in charge of the swap. I like surprises too.

I was thinking of having the cutoff date be on the 30th so the names can be matched up, and then say one month from then to get the things out to your fellow swapees. How does that sound? So we can cut off the date and the ISOs and get it squared away for the making time.

From the pattern that is being established, post your ISO list and then list what you will be able to trade in return.

I thought that giving everyone until the end of this week to sign up for their ISOs would be good.... I have heard from one person on a match....
So if you all could take a look at the lists, and see what you could do for that person and PM me here, I would appreciate it.
I will get the matches out on Saturday the 31st, and then can we do a month... have the items mailed out by August 30th (Monday)?
How does that work for everyone? Because I know I will have to make something for someone... I don't have these things lying around my house unfortunately.

:pezfrog
I am an extremely slow knitter so it will take some time. I can do "jenny's soaker pattern", I can also do a funky hat. I am also able to crochet a baby blanket.
If the person is able to wait a little I can do custom embroidered receiving blankets. I won't be able to get to them for about a month though because I am in hospital right now.
The wool that I have available to work with here is either a male oriented varigated 100% merino superwash or purple of the same type.
I am ISO of soaker shorts or pants for my dd. I am also in search of hand dyed yarn or one of Pamela's knitting classes :D
Nichole
AM I TOO LATE??????
I'd love to join! What do I need to do???
Nada :lookroun:
I have everyone all matched up at this point.... We might be doing another one... :tsk Unless there is someone who wants to do two out there? I already have put someone to the test....
